After a steady climb, I reached Yongmungul Cave-a natural structure formed by two massive rocks leaning against each other. Passing through the grand cavernous opening framed by soaring cliff walls, I felt an almost mystical energy. The cool mountain breeze blowing through the gap was icy fresh, making it the perfect spot to wipe off sweat and catch my breath.

Past Yongmungul Cave lies the Chilseongbawi Lookout, offering an incredible view of the famous Chilseongbawi Rock. Looking at the rock peaks spread out like a traditional folding screen with pine trees rooted in stone… the scenery is purely magnificent. Sipping cool water while gazing at the view made all the fatigue from the climb instantly melt away.

I regrouped and pressed on along the ridge toward the summit. Though the rocky path was thrillingly narrow with every step, the sweeping views on both sides kept me completely captivated. Standing before the Pioneer Monument at Macheondae Summit gave me a feeling of total liberation. The endless mountain ridges unfolding below looked just like a traditional ink-wash painting, leaving me spellbound.

Past the thrilling stairway, I crossed Mt. Daedunsan's #1 spot: the Geumgang Suspension Bridge. As a 3rd-generation suspension bridge, it doesn't sway excessively, but the sheer drop below and slight movement deliver just the right amount of adrenaline. With Macheondae Summit in the background, it’s also the ultimate photo spot.
